"I joined the Parish Council to play a part in the development of our community and environment over the coming years."

Alastair, a new recruit to the PC, was born in a village near Chester and has lived in Kinoulton since 1988. Originally an aeronautical engineer, after many years as a technical director in the IT industry he had the opportunity to leave the rat race and do something more worthwhile. Having enjoyed climbing trees from an early age he now has his own business as a tree surgeon. He is a tree warden for Kinoulton and is active in projects to encourage the planting and care of trees. He is one of the "Friends of Vimy Ridge" and is also involved with the A46 Dualling Group.

Alastair enjoys sailing, hockey and playing guitar in the Kinoulton band, "Crisis". Currently hosting a student from Hong Kong the whole family enjoy walking and cycling in the Vale.

With a son at South Wolds school, Alastair is keen that the council works on behalf of residents of all ages.
